The Amber landed quickly, and Natya was unstrapping herself before Aria's feet touched the ground. She jumped down and ran through the halls, bumping into people as she ran, but not paying much attention. She had to get to the Dragonlady's chambers... Or her office. Wherever she happened to be. Oh, hopefully she wouldn't have to run through the halls to find her... She couldn't afford to take the time to search for Lady Utenga when there were pirates approaching the shores of Kamyr!
She crashed into someone as she was running through the halls, but she stood quickly. "Sorry! It's incredibly urgent! I have to find Lady Utenga!" She ran off again, not really noticing if the person she crashed into was following her. None of her bonded pets had come with her on patrol, she'd insisted that they stay behind. Good thing too.
Natya finally got to the Dragonlady's office, she stopped and basically pounded on the door for a moment before doubling over, panting hard. Oh, please let her be here! she prayed silently as she tried to catch her breath.

Kyatte had been looking over documents and battle plans when she heard the pounding at her door. She lifted her head, curious in what could be so important that someone would be pounding on it instead of knocking like normal. She frowning and stood from her desk, dodging around the array of animals that tended to collect in her room. Opening the door, she looked at the Amber Warrior Natya. Her frown deepened when she took in the state she was in and she gestured for the girl to come in. "What is it, Natya? Aren't you supposed to be on patrol right now?" she asked.

Natya moved to enter the room and stood, her breathing slowly returning to normal.
"I was... We were flying... Over the beach..." she began breathlessly. "Aria... She said something... Something felt wrong. She said she could feel... Fear." She began to speak normally again, her heart finally returning to normal speed. "Pirates! There's a pirate ship approaching Kamyr, and there was a voice from it! Or at least I think that's where it was from. Aria said it didn't sound like a dragon, but like something from somewhere else." She had to take a breath and remind herself to slow down. "We think that there's someone stuck on the ship, captured... Someone on that ship needs our help!"
Unknown to them, there was a boy hiding in the shadows of the doorway, and had been there for quite a while. He heard the entire thing, but still stayed quiet. If Lady Utenga needed him, she would know he was there.

Her frown only deepened as she heard the news, crossing her arms over her chest and contemplating those words that she heard. "Very well, it is our job as Warriors to help those in need, and I trust the judgement of your dragon Natya. Your assignment is to gather a crew of Warriors and some of the older Dragon Trainees. You need to take down the pirate ship and get out whoever is there. We cannot let them stay in the hands of the pirates, no matter what," she said firmly. She turned her attention to the shadow in the doorway and smiled slowly. "Aldric, enter. You will be vital to this. As will Quiera if someone will fetch her?" she inquired.

Natya nodded. Aria, can you send Moony to find Quiera? And can you get some of the other Warriors and older Dragontrainees here too?
Consider it done, the Amber replied. She reached out to a few of the older Dragontrainees, specifically her Diamond brother and Ebony sister, and the others from Natya's class of Dragontrainees. They would need a few select people.
Aldric stepped out of the shadows, a slight half-grin on his face. "Perceptive as ever, milady," he said with a slight bow. "I can see that my skills as a spy are about to be put to good use."
I have been told that Aren will be there within minutes, while Osanai warms up his wings for flight.
"Aria says that Aren is on his way," she repeated to Kyatte. "No replies yet from the other dragons."
"Oh, a few more will come," Aldric said with a shrug. "After all, is it not part of a Dragonwarrior's job to defend against any and all hostilities?" Natya rolled her eyes. Boy was this kid full of himself...

Wraith was outside finishing up Trip's bath-the Sapphire liked her scrubbing his scales, though it was now completely unnecessary with him being fully matured-when the call came. Trip alerted her to it, and she nodded, motioning him and her three Aryvole from the water. Trip shook himself hard, and she yelped. "TRIP! I can't go see the Dragonlady like this!" she cried in dismay, and the Sapphire, hunched his shoulders. I'm sorry! Perhaps she will forgive you? It sounded quite urgent, he replied, and she sighed and nodded, racing towards the room and skidding to a halt once she got there, her brown hair a mess. "Sorry I'm wet," she apologized. "I was with Trip for his bath."
Quiera was seated in one of the classrooms studying a book on dragon behavior and still trying to figure out what she might have done wrong a year before that had caused the dragon to leave her. She'd yet to come up with a satisfactory answer, and she sighed, then looked up as the Moonstone appeared before her, getting her attention and letting her know the Dragonlady wanted her. She jumped up, thanking the Yandorei, and her two fluttered in the air, then Aleeri settled to her shoulder as she raced down the hallway, her staff angled so as not to be in her way but also not to hit someone. Halting before Dragonlady Yvette's door, she noticed all the people inside and blinked, allowing Aridor to settle to her arm as she padded inside. "You called for me ma'am?" she said respectfully.

Evanthe, Aria and her Warrior are calling us. The Dragon Lady would like to see us, Rene said, leaning her head down and nudging her Warrior from where they had been sitting out in the field beyond the Hall. They had been waiting for their call to start patrolling the border but apparently something had happened. Otherwise Aria wouldn't be calling them already, they still had some time from what Evanthe had gathered. The recently graduated Warrior hummed and stood, moving back towards the Hall at a brisk pace. It didn't take her long to arrive and look over at Lady Utenga with dread in her eyes. "I was summoned?" she questioned.
Kyatte nodded her head at the arrival of some of the Warriors, along with Quiera and Aldric. Yes, this would do well for the time being. "It has been brought to my attention that there is a pirate ship off the coast of Kamyrr. This threat needs to be dealt with immediately, and you that are gathered here will be vital to that. Evanthe, Natya. You two will be important for picking off the pirates should they get too rowdy. Wraith, you and Aren will be using magic from the higher ground to distract them. Quiera, this is where you and Aldric will come in handy. I need the two of you to infiltrate the ship while these four run the distraction. There is someone on that ship who is crying out for help, but be warned that they are not like we expect. This ship comes from a distant land which means they don't have dragons, but they have other beings similar. You two need to get this trapped person off, along with any others, and get back to land before Wraith and Aren sink the ship. Wraith, you and Trip," her lips curved in a faint smirk over the name despite it being a year since his birth, "will find this task the easiest. His water element should easily capsize the boat. We can't have it rising again." She straightened up and looked at them all with absolute seriousness. "You have your orders. Now go complete your mission, and may the Goddess be with you."
Evanthe bowed her head in understanding and turned to look at what had become her squad for this mission. She looked over at Natya and smiled at her. "So, what's the plan Natya. You saw the ship first after all," she commented.

Aren was in the room just before Lady Utenga started giving orders. He looked over at the Amber's rider.
"Alright... Quiera, Aldric, you two will have to ride there on other dragons," she said, stating the obvious as they left the room. "Quiera with Evanthe and Aldric with me." She had a hard glint in her eyes, reminiscent of her hunting days. "Our two dragons will go low, on pretense of attacking the ship, and the two of you will jump down and get in there. From there, I leave it to your digression Aldric. You're the trained spy of us, so you'll know better than I how we get in there."
"If its my opinions y'er after, I suggest that we climb onto the ship from below and sneak in through a porthole," Al told her.
"That's actually a much quieter option, and better too," Natya sighed. "Alright. Get in from the portholes, there's bound to be a rope or two hanging from the sides. And do not let yourselves get seen!" She turned to Aren. "Have Osanai distract them with his light magic, and we should probably have Al and Quiera equipped with runes of shielding so they're unaffected by the magic. And we need some way to keep in contact in case something happens."
"I've got high-level Mindspeak," Al offered. "As long as there's a creature to connect to, I'll be able to keep a connection going."
"Good," Natya replied with a nod. "When you find whoever's trapped in the ship, let us know. We'll keep distracting them until you let us know that you're out. At that point, whoever finds themselves free will swoop down and pick you up from the deck. After that, we'll use Trip's water magic and Aria's air magic to sink the ship, and anyone who can help in that is welcome to do so. But remember, our first priority is to rescue whoever's trapped. There's gotta be at least one person down there." She climbed onto Aria's back, and Al climbed up behind her. Aren mounted Osanai, who was surprisingly silent, though he had matured a bit in the fourteen months since his hatching.
"Everyone ready?" Natya called. "Let's fly!" Aria flared her wings, and Natya felt Al's arms tighten around her stomach. "Relax a bit will you? Aria's not gonna let you fall." He relaxed, but his hands were still clasped around her. Aria and Osanai both took to the sky, and the Amber dragon led the way.

Quiera and Wraith listened carefully to the plan, and then both young women nodded. "My Craft is Defensive Runes," Quiera reminded Natya with a smile. "So I always have a few on me. I have some specific to magic and projectiles right now as well if you need them." She moved over to Evanthe's Rene once they were outside and waited for the 'Warrior to mount before following suit, curling her arms lightly around her waist, unafraid and completely confident the Marbled wouldn't let her fall.
Wraith mounted Trip swiftly, settling the harnessing and then watching and waiting. She sternly ordered her Arvole to remain at the Hall, not wanting them to get hurt, and then her Sapphire leapt into the sky after his sister, following her and slightly off to her right and above, his shadow gliding over the ground in a way that never failed to fascinate Wraith. Once they were over the ocean, the Sapphire got more excited, and she sensed his magic pulsing with the nearness of his element.

Evanthe smiled and mounted Rene swiftly, settling herself into the harness and then handing Quiera the secondary harness she kept on her dragon. She agreed with Natya's battle plan and so she would follow her without a second thought. "I've also got some Dark runes to cast invisibility. Can't power them myself but others can draw from me," she said, calling it over the grounds so that they others would hear her before they took to the sky. She felt the strength in Rene's wings and smiled, leaning into the take off and smiling brightly. This would be the perfect opportunity to use those battle skills they'd been learning for the past couple of months before graduation.
