Al pushed himself off the wall and had started to turn back to the Wallows entrance when something stopped him. He looked back, spying the large brown one. Then he heard the voice.
Al, you show the proper qualities of a leader. I am Havochae. The Gryphon sat back on his haunches, and Aldric was stunned. He was chosen...? He smiled after a moment.
"Of course you are," he said. "Where do you stand in the oder?"
I am a King, of course. He stood and padded toward the others. Come. I am getting hungry. Let us eat.
The Tiger was left on the sands almost alone. She looked around, surprised, before settling down and looking back at the girls. She made her way to one of the younger girls, in fact, one of the youngest, and sat down in the sand.
"Why, you are perfect as you are Arlinae," said the girl, leading the Tiger off the sands.
"Once you are done feeding your Gryphon, you might want to take a nap. The hatching can be quite tiring on some of the hatchlings, and the people as well." She looked over as Renae emerged from the Wallows at last. "Now, you have the rest of the day to yourselves, but be sure to get to bed early. Your first lesson begins in the morning."

Quiera listened carefully, even as she continued feeding Brenichae, the Arcticfox also seeming to be listening. Once she was full, she yawned widely, and Quiera smiled, stroking her once more. "I guess a nap is a good idea," she murmured, and the Gryphon chirped softly. Perhaps so, she replied idly, looking around at her siblings. Quiera could feel her assessing them, could feel her pleasure that each had found a suitable human for them, and she smiled as she grabbed her Sunstaff and moved to lead her. Instead of to bed though, she approached Ymaara, wanting more information. "May I ask you a few questions?" she inquired quietly.

Zakaa and Dratorae cleaned up after themselves once the gryphon was full, the spy mildly entranced by the colors his gryphon showed and the softness of his feathers. Truly he couldn't believe his luck here. First he was taken in by the Hall - despite coming from an island of convicts in the south - and then he Bonded to Blaze, and now there was Dratorae. He was quite pleased, he never would have imagined his life turning out this way.
Zakaa, is the Bonding process over? the voice rang in his head, registering as Blaze in the man's thoughts quickly.
Yes, it's over. You have a new friend to meet, he responded, turning his head to watch the Drakkat exit the shadows and pad over. "Dratorae, this is Blaze. Blaze, Dratorae," he said, looking between the two creatures that shared his mind.
I will not eat you, Drakkat, the Redfox said, reading how the Drakkat held himself to see it.
Good, it would be unadvisable to eat a King, Blaze retorted before brushing up against Zakaa's leg. We should go, Zakaa. Your gryphon may have eaten but you still need to.
Zakaa sighed lightly. Now he was going to have two voices in his head telling him what to do, but at least it would always be interesting. He rose and gave a congratulations to those he passed before lifting a hand to Ymaara in a parting wave. He headed out of the Wallows then, settled on getting Dratorae settled in for a nap and then getting some food for him and Blaze.

Ymaara turned around at the voice, having been headed to the room she shared with her Gryphon. "Renae, you go on ahead," she told the Redwolf. Renae nodded and went down the hall toward their room. "I will answer any questions you have for me," Ymaara told Quiera. "And, as the QueenFledgeling, you will be the leader of the Gryphons in a few years. I will do my best to get you and Aldric some lessons with the Dragonlord and Dragonlady, as well." Then Emerald made herself known, looking up at the other girl, then going over to sniff at the other Queen.
Hello there, fellow Queenling, Emerald said to the Arcticfox. The Drakkat smiled slightly. She'd grown a good bit since their rescue, and was easily too large now to settle on her old favorite spot of Ymaara's shoulder. She turned and made her way over to Blaze, nuzzling him and sitting down next to him. They'd spent a lot of their kit days together, and they were going to spend more together. The Minuet was certain of that.
Havochae yawned widely, a strange sort of chirping noise that made Al snicker. Then Al stifled a yawn. Man, the formation of the mental connection must've been more tiring on him than he had realized. He stood. "C'mon Havochae. I'm ready for a nap." The Africandog also stood and followed his boy as they headed to Al's room.

"What does that mean, exactly?" Quiera asked uncertainly. "I mean, the dragons earn their ranks, they don't just KNOW them, like these guys seem to. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do." Her hand ran over Brenichae's head once more, just stroking the silvery feathers, and the Arcticfox chirped softly, then looked down at the Drakkat, her head cocking in a distinctly avian fashion of curiosity.
Hello small one, she replied, chirring lightly. What kind of creature are you? This question came after a few moments of consideration of the smaller Queen, and vulpine tail flicked slightly to settle about her forelegs as she seated herself, understanding that her Bonded might be a few minutes satisfying her curiosity about her new place. Brenichae, of course, was quite sure about her's, but she sensed her Quiera's need to know and accepted it.

Blaze watched as Zakaa left with Dratorae, sitting there calmly as Emerald landed next to him. He leaned into her slightly though, a subtle way of telling the Minuet he was aware of her presence. He looked up at the Queen fledgling, amusement briefly causing his ears to twitch before he curled his tail along his legs. We are Drakkats, I am Blaze and she is Emerald, he said, dipping his head lightly in greeting. She was higher ranking than him after all, if only a bit, and it never hurt to be courteous to the royals of other species.

Ymaara smiled slightly. "You will learn to be a Queen with time," she said simply. "For now, just take the time to get to know your new partner. You two will become even closer as time goes by. Gryphons are not like dragons, I will tell you that much. They can bond to anyone, regardless of magical ability, though they do not have much themselves." She looked over at the ArcticFox Queen. "It will take much time before there are enough Gryphons in this land to branch into a Keep of our own, though this is a promising first group of Fledgelings." She smiled at the girl.
Emerald sat silently next to Blaze, her tail curled around her paws. She rarely spoke to anyone, at least in languages besides the noises that only the Drakkats could understand.

Quiera considered that for a long moment, then inclined her head in acceptance of Ymaara's greater experience. "Brenichae is glad that all of them found a partner," she murmured quietly, stroking the Arcticfox once more and feeling her lean into her leg gently. The Gryphon then looked down to the Drakkats once more, and her ears twitched faintly.
I see. Those are strange names, but they suit you, I suppose, she replied idly, not sure she understood, but willing to accept the oddity nonetheless. A smile flickered over Quiera's lips as she heard the comment, and she glanced down at her Bonded. Brenichae looked up at her, meeting her gaze calmly, then pointedly yawned, and the girl chuckled.
"Alright, alright," she said, then looked to Ymaara once more. "Thank you for your patience and time. I look forward to seeing what you have to teach us," she said honestly, then turned and retreated down the hallway with her Gryphon and her Yandorei, the two little ones examining their new companion, Aridor more closely than Aleeri, though the Opal was just as aware of Brenichae as the Garnet.
