There was a glint of amber in the sky as the dragon and young Rider flew over the coastline. Natya put a hand on Aria's neck. "Is something wrong?" she asked, sensing the magic waves from the Amber beneath her.
There is something out there... I am not sure what, but I can sense fear from somewhere over the water, she explained, or attempted to. Perhaps we should check it out?
"Why not? There's bound to be some reason for it, after all," Natya agreed. "But we can't get too close until we know for sure what it is. After all, I may be able to shoot from your back, but I'm certain that whoever is so afraid is probably vastly outnumbered. We need to be careful."
Of course. And with that, Aria banked right and flew out over the water, still in the direction of Kamyr, but further out over the water. I see something... A ship. Headed to the Kamyr port. Should we get closer?
Someone... Please... Help!
"Did you hear that?!" Natya asked, surprised. "Get closer to that ship... There's something... Off about it." Aria glided closer to the ship, then right over it. Natya gasped. "Pirates! Head back to the Hall, and quickly! The others have to know about this, and hurry!!" Aria turned and sped back to the Hall, her mind still lingering over the voice that had penetrated her thoughts. It hadn't felt like a dragon's mind-voice... It was something... New, strange... Something that didn't belong. At least not in this land. Maybe it was something smuggled from another land? That was easily possible with pirates. But just what kind of creature was it? And why had she felt the lives of multiple creatures on board?
