Rene back winged into the courtyard before letting everyone off, and Kyatte came out to meet them as the successful warriors and the elder trainee dismounted. "Good job everyone," she said proudly, taking in Ymaara with her gryphon. Curiosity stole over her for a moment before her eyes widened in surprise. "It has been a long time since we've seen or heard of Gryphons on our shores. I am Kyatte Utenga of Emerald Yallali. I am the Dragon Lady of East Hall, which is where you are now. Welcome, I'm glad we were able to get you off the pirate ship. Natya and her Aria here were the ones that heard your cries for help," she said, gesturing with her hand towards the young Warrior. "I'm sure you must be sorry but I'm afraid there are some questions that must be asked before you can rest. If you will, I will show you all to my office, and Yallali will send someone over to prepare a room for you so that your gryphon may rest there while we talk, unless of course she would prefer to watch over the eggs in the wallows," she said, smiling warmly at the pair of rescued teens. She had noted the eggs of course, and she waited for that decision to be taken care of before she led them down the hallway and into her office.
Evanthe smiled slightly and gestured for Ymaara and Zakaa to follow Lady Utenga before following behind them. Once they were in the office she stood to the side with the rest of her squad, while Lady Utenga gestured for them to seat themselves.
Kyatte sat behind her desk and folded her hands on the desk calmly, looking over at Ymaara and Zakaa. "Now, we know only that you two were on the ship. If you wouldn't mind I would care to know how you got there exactly," she said. Love, call Lothar would you? It would be good if he were here, she said to Yallali. A rumble came over her link with her dragon before she got the faint sensation that it was done right as Lothar entered the office. He had a boyish grin on his face as he crossed over to his mate and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek and then standing beside her.
"I'm sorry for my tardiness, I wasn't aware of your arrival. I am Lothar Draven of Sapphire Andorik, I am Dragon Lord here, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance," he said, offering his hand for a shake which Zakaa took him up on, shaking his hand firmly.
"I am Zakaa Koziara, it is a pleasure to meet both of you," he said calmly before sitting back to let Ymaara tell the first part of the tale.

Renae landed, back paws first, then front claws, and got closer to the ground to allow the pair to get down safely. Emerald jumped down and rolled in the grass, causing Ymaara to laugh. The Amber dragoness landed next to the Gryphon. Then there was another woman, only at most ten years older than herself.
I would prefer to guard the eggs, Renae said with a respectful dip of her head. I am actually expecting my own clutch of eggs soon as well, so it is better for myself if I remain to guard the two eggs. She knew the unBonded children would be excited to get a chance to Bond to one of her kind.
"I am surprised that you know of the Gryphon soldiers," Ymaara admitted, her back to the Dragonlady as she secured the eggs to Renae's back. She turned and bowed slightly. Blaze looked curiously at the Dragonlady, but he jumped onto Ymaara's shoulder. Emerald sneezed when a blade of grass poked the inside of her nose. Ymaara laughed and picked the kitten up. Of course, Emerald batted at her hair, getting one of her paws tangled up in it. "Oh, stop it you," the girl sighed, quickly freeing the green-colored paw from her copper hair.
She followed Kyatte into her office, taking the offered seat gratefully. Blaze attempted to leap at the new man, but Ymaara quickly held him back. "Sorry about him," she said quickly. "He hasn't Bonded to anyone yet, didn't seem to like our captors all that much. I'm hoping he finds someone here who can tame him a bit." She took the offered hand that the Dragon Lord held out. "My name is Ymaara Meton, of Redwolf Gryphon Renae." She took a breath before beginning her story.
"Well, I wasn't alone, not originally," she began. "There were two of the Gryphon soldiers assigned to a merchant vessel, myself and my... Friend, Prelao, and his Tiger Gryphon Drae." There was slight hesitation just before she said the word friend, because there was in fact more to their relationship than that. But that was next. "We were headed to Gulf Keep from our home, the Riverway Keep. Gulf Keep had been having problems involving sickness with some of its Gryphons, so we were sent to protect the two eggs and take them to Gulf Keep. We... We had just entered open water when Renae rose to mate... Of course, Drae was the one to Catch her. It was just a few days later that the captain's Minuet Drakkat birthed a litter of ten kittens..." She stopped to steady herself. This was where it got bad.
"The next night, we were attacked by those pirates," she said quietly. "We weren't prepared to fight them... I have no magical training, you see..." she added sheepishly. "Gryphons do not need magic to Bond to a person the way dragons do. But anyway, during the attack, I was only able to save these two kittens... Prelao and Drae were lost to us..." She closed her eyes and bowed her head, holding the two kittens close to her. She felt that burning in her throat, and she didn't trust herself to speak again. She hadn't even told Zakaa about the attack, not from her point of view. But every night she relived it, woke up the ship for a few nights in a row before they finally gagged her to keep her quiet.
Her shoulders began to shake slightly, and she knew that she had lost again. She had cried so many times while she was held prisoner, and she was going to again. But she knew she was safe here. So she felt like she didn't have to fight it any more.

Trip landed and remained back on his haunches, the Captain held within the bundle of seaweed that was the binding. Wraith motioned a pair of soldiers over to hold him, and she had him escorted to the Dragon Lady's room along with the group of them, making sure his odd binding remained in place. He was then held as she watched and listened, her hands held in place behind her back.
Near her, Quiera stood silently, watching the Gryphonrider curiously. She was fascinated by her Bonded one, and the two kittens just were absolutely adorable little creatures, enough so that she found herself wanting to pet the one she'd named Emerald. She kept her hands to herself though, not wishing to offend their... Guests? She wasn't quite sure what to call the former prisoner and her companion, so merely let herself watch them, although her mind wandered to the eggs, wondering what lay inside those two precious shells...

Kyatte smiled wryly at Ymaara's mention of the Gryphon soldiers. "It is lore that is passed down from many generations, but often it is not taught anymore because we thought all the gryphons gone. They have not been seen in Shai since the taming of the dragons, but apparently they instead moved to your continent. It makes me wonder if the other creatures are still around and simply living on different lands from ours," she said with a thoughtful look as she steepled her fingers together. She shot an amused glance at her mate as he reacted to the drakkat kitten jumping at him with a laugh.
Her gaze grew darker as Ymaara shared her tale, and she could feel the brewing anger of a few of the people in the room. A growl slid out of her and she calmed herself when Lothar's hand settled on her shoulder to give it a slight squeeze. "I am terribly sorry for your loss, Ymaara. It saddens me that we had no clue of the attack and that the pirates were allowed to do such things, though I am sure you understand that we have no jurisdiction unless they come close to Kamyrr."
Zakaa twisted slightly in the chair he was seated on as Ymaara started to cry, gently placing an arm over her shoulder and pulling her close. This was the first time he had heard the full story and he ached for her, so he soothed her with gentle sounds as she cried.
Lothar stepped forward then in silence and offered Zakaa and Ymaara a handkerchief in order for her to dry her face when she had finished crying. He had gone through this with his mate before - namely when she'd been pregnant but that was a different story - and so he knew that it was best to let her cry.
Evanthe lowered her eyes to the ground at Ymaara's tale, anger roiling in her stomach. She was glad they killed those pirates but the matter of the captain was still to be discussed. She would vote for torturing the information out of him and then a public execution, he deserved no honor for what he and his crew had done to this poor woman.

Ymaara easily went into his arms. He had comforted her so many times when she'd been tied up. Blaze looked over at the boy who was embracing the girl who had saved him. Blaze looked at Emerald, who nodded. She knew what he was going to do. Blaze nudged Zakaa's hand, then licked it. It had taken him a while to decide, but he finally had. He wanted this one. He climbed up the chair to get on Zakaa's shoulder and nuzzle the boy's neck. This boy was his.
Ymaara straightened, finally calming down. She accepted the handkerchief and used it to wipe her face. She smiled at the Bolero kitten. "Well, looks like he's decided on you," she said to Zakaa. "You get to name him for real now." She looked back at the Dragon Lord and Lady. "After the attack, Zakaa found me, and... Well, we passed one day at a time, knowing one day that someone would come and defeat the pirates, and save us. And finally, you heard Renae's cries for help." She turned to Natya, who bowed slightly. "You saved us... All of us. We are in your debt."
An idea struck her, and she smiled slightly. "I know. Renae is having her first clutch, which will mean that there will be about ten eggs total... I would be honored if you allowed me to teach your Trainees about Gryphon life, about being a Gryphon Soldier." She suddenly looked thoughtful, then her eyes widened. "Oh, I am sorry. I should return this to you... But... Would you prefer me to clean it first?"

Zakaa was mildly startled when the Drakkat nudged his hand and then jumped on his neck. A soft chuckle escaped him though as he felt the bond forging between them, just the slight nudge of another consciousness inside of his own. He lifted a hand and ran it along the kit's back. "He can keep the name Blaze, it's all I've known him by," he said softly. He relaxed back in his chair now that Ymaara seemed to have herself under control again, a small smile quirking the corners of his lips as he absently stroked Blaze.
Kyatte gave Ymaara a smile at her offer, dipping her head lightly in her assent. "It honors us that you would consider that. I know there are a few that would jump at the option of learning all they could, and being a Gryphon Soldier. I have to ask though, the eggs you were first traveling with? Might I ask what they contain?" she questioned.
Lothar smiled at Ymaara and shook his head. "No, you can keep it. I have plenty lying around," he said with a playful grin.
The dragonlady elbowed him with a laugh before turning her attention to the pirate captain in the corner. "Now, we come to the question of what to do with this man," she said coldly, all warmth leaving her as she stared down the sea scum that was wrapped in sea weed and held there with magic. "Any suggestions?"

Quiera and Wraith both stood and watched, listened, and they glanced at one another as Ymaara made the offer of letting some of their Trainees stand for the Gryphon eggs. The offer made Quiera's pale gaze almost glow with excitement, and she had to stop herself from bouncing with that emotion.
When Kyatte turned her attention to the Pirate Captain, Wraith adjusted her magic's hold on him, shifting the seaweed so that it released him, but kept his hands contained behind his back. "He's a magic user," she warned the Dragon Lady, should she desire to approach. "He tried to take Trip and Aria out of the air." Her fury over his trying to hurt her dragon flashed in her eyes, and the Captain winced as an unconscious adjustment occurred, the seaweed tightening on his wrists almost painfully. The young Magician took a deep breath to control her emotion, and the binding loosened slightly once again. "I brought him in because I thought you might wish to question him about his activities."

Ymaara laughed softly. "They're Gryphon eggs of course!" she said with a smile. "But even I do not know what kind they contain. That knowledge will wait until Hatching Day.
When conversation was turned to the issue of the pirate captain, Ymaara glared at the man coldly. It would have made anyone shudder. "I care not what you do with such a barbarian," she said, looking away, hate filling her voice. "He had me trapped in that ship for weeks, I care not what happens to him at this point, as long as I need not see him again." With that, she stood, Emerald dozing in her arms. "I'm sorry, but if it's alright with you, I would like to get some rest." She cradled the sleeping kitten in her arms, making sure to watch out for the gold horns on her head. "It's been a long few weeks..."
